Elsa Prado

Elsa Prado is a lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois. She works as a Judicial Court Spanish Interpreter for Cook County and also worked as a translator for Illinois State Police and Chicago HDTA as well as other agencies.

She has served as the Session Interpreter Chair for the Chicago Newspaper Guild Interpreter’s union, and member of MATI (Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters’).

She is the author of Dear Donor and Querido Donante (Spanish version) and Heart Stomp.

For the past year she has been working with the community raising awareness about the issues regarding the use of sperm donors to conceive and the consequences, giving personal testimony.

She works on the promotion of Literacy in the Hispanic community doing forums about family and healthy relationships at the Latino family festivals. She is available for speaking engagements.
