Grace Heyward

Grace Heyward is the author of The Kiss to Betrayal, Coming Through Emotional and Mental Abuse and A Costly Mistake.  She is also a Marriage and Family Therapist-Intern in Southern California.  Grace is currently working on establishing a private practice, Mindful Therapy and Coaching, to open in the near future.  While practicing as a Therapist, Grace has also provided coaching to clients, as well.  Motivating and inspiring them to want and be more in their lives.  To experience the positive changes they wish to see within themselves.  She grew up in small community 70 miles northeast of Los Angeles, CA and can truly say she is a native Californian.

Grace is a Christian and also practices Law of Attraction.  “Religion has always fascinated me.  I’ve taken religion and philosophy courses in school and even considered becoming a minister.  But, I believe as a Therapist and Coach, I am able to still work within the white light, providing emotional and mental healing.”  It is also through the Law of Attraction, Grace has strengthened her Faith.  Writing has always been a big and important part of Grace's life.  It has always been her way of expression.

For as long as Grace could remember, she has kept a diary or journal.  She took a journalism class in community college, considering a serious career in journalism or news reporting.  The writing bug bit Grace hard when she received her first by line in the community college paper, The Maurader Times.  She wrote using her legal name, Mary Speight.  This was her first story and it was placed on the front page of the college paper.  What a rush!  And so was writing Kiss to Betrayal and seeing it published, on the first try, it was AMAZING!  But then, to submit A Costly Mistake and see it in print, is just as shocking and breath taking.

She is also working on completing and publishing an eBook, “3am Conversations with God, A Personal Spiritual Journey.”  Grace has numerous posts on the web that are published by Grace Heyward and her legal name, Mary Speight.  She has posted reviews on TripAdvisor.com, ehow.com and this past June, she wrote a success story of treating adolescence with eating disorders and other addictive behavior on Eatingkids.com.  This story is posted under Grace’s legal name, Mary Speight, MA, MFT-Intern.  Grace is also a co-editor on AllThingsHealing.com.  She currently started a blog reviewing and posting reviews of books.

"Writing, just like so many other forms of creative outlets, ie, photography, scrapbooking, even cooking have been a wonderful emotional outlet.", Grace said.  There is beauty in everything around you and for Grace, the written word has always held her attention and fed her imagination.  As a young child, Grace would love to color as a way to escape until she was able to read a book.  Since then books have been her source of escape and writing short stories in junior high and high school continued to fuel her desire to create her own world of dreams and fantasy.
