The Rev. Richard C. Flippin, M. Div
The Reverend Richard Curtis Flippin is the second oldest son of Dr. and Mrs. William E. Flippin, Sr. He acknowledged his call to preach the gospel in 1999 and was ordained in the Baptist tradition in 2002.
On September 10, 2000, Rev. R. Flippin had the historic honor of preaching his initial sermon along with his two brothers, The Reverends William Edward, Jr. and Joseph Charles Taylor, and thus became the third generation of preachers in his family.
Rev. Richard Flippin is a graduate of Morehouse College class of 2001, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy. At Morehouse College, he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporation, Alpha Rho (Morehouse College) Chapter. Rev. Flippin furthered his education at Emory University, Candler School of Theology, Atlanta, GA, where he received a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in pastoral care in 2004. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Church Leadership Excellence from Wesley Theological Seminary, American University, Washington, D.C.
Among his many accomplishments, Rev. Flippin has had the distinct honor to serve as the Morehouse College Summer Academy Campus Minister from 2002 until 2010. He is now the Executive Pastor of the GreaterPiney Grove Church, Atlanta, GA, where his father serves as theSenior Pastor; and he is also the Director of Organization, Ministry Planning and Special Projects.
As the third generation of preachers in his family, Rev. Richard C. Flippin plans to continue the legacy of his late grandfather, The Reverend Moses Taylor, Sr. and the vision of his father, The Reverend William Edward Flippin, Sr. to seek and the answer the high calling of God, God's people and the community.
