Shawn McCarthy

My name is Shawn McCarthy; I was born and raised in Fremont, Ohio where I set the stage for my future.  At age 11 I became National Champion in the Punt Pass and Kick competition by winning the final competition at Super Bowl XIV (14) in Pasadena, CA.  That win propelled me to a bright athletic future.

I was a High School All-American and received a full Scholarship to Purdue University to be their punter and back-up QB.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL.

I was cut by the Falcons but caught on with the New England Patriots and in 1991 I stated my claim on the NFL record books with a punt of 93 yards against the Buffalo Bills. The punt still stands as the 3rd longest in NFL history.

During my time in College and the NFL I spoke to many groups about success and achieving dreams.  After football I became a member of the PGA where I spent 9 years as the Head Golf Professional at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines in Payson, AZ.  I am still a card holding PGA member but am entertaining new avenues for employment and enrichment.

I live with my lovely wife Megan and our 7 children in Payson, AZ.
